About

Psyched Out has been a quarantine hobby. Confronted with a grossly excessive amount of free time, I searched for a creative project to help myself stay afloat. Armed as I was with a lifetime of Calvin & Hobbes affinity, a comic was a natural place to land.

I wasn’t sure what to focus on until it occurred to me that the past four years of my life – studying psychology and going to college – had been hilarious. A comic about Tom, a 20-year-old psych major, was an easy choice.

Tom is a barely exaggerated version of me as a college sophomore. If you knew me then, you might see me in Tom’s unreasonable enthusiasm for psychology, endlessly analytical thought processes, and penchant for wearing green t-shirts. These comics became a way to laugh with myself, poke fun at the major I love, and reflect on my season of college.

If you’ve ever struggled to feel like an adult or sweated whether to greet an acquaintance across the hall, you might also identify with Tom. Either way, thanks for visiting to take a peek at his life!
